Khairul is admitted in Malaysia and works in conjunction with Johnson Lawyers as the consultant for the Asean region.

Khairul is currently the senior Intellectual Property & Commercialization Adviser to a leading Malaysian university with APEX status, Universiti Sains Malaysia.

Khairul advises on matters relating to intellectual property rights, commercialization, offshore agreements, corporate banking and finance, as well as corporate legal and regulatory developments.

He is also currently an Intellectual Property consultant for Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Universiti Malaysia Pahang and Messrs. Jahara Radzi & Partners, as well as acting as a Legal Entity Appointed Representative (LEAR) of the European Commission and the Director of IXC Malaysia Berhad. Khairul is currently based in Penang, Malaysia.
